Over the years we have been asked to do clock case restoration but this has changed & we now get asked to do many different kinds of clock cases from the biggest to the brass case on a small carriage clock, So we have converted one of our workshops just to do clock case restoration. We have invested in some specialized tooling to enable us to use reclaimed Antique woods, such as mahogany & Oak then you have your exotic veneers.Using old reclaimed woods this serves a few purposes, it helps us to match wood type & look & importantly the wood we use is antique keeping with traditional restoration practices, we will not use modern wood of any kind its simply not the same, older wood has a different look & feel that can not be matched with the wood that is available today, antique remodeled timbers are the right way to do antique restoration.
We will always go along the line of sympathetic restoration & strive to keep the clock looking period, our idea is the clock should look like an Antique clock but in good Antique condition, not over restored which from the Antique worlds prospective is a big no no, We have a passion for clocks its not just a job.
