He has done an excellent job on the movement and the case and it now looks very presentable without having lost its aged look and feel. John is a gifted, honest and reliable horologist. I took our Tempus Fugit Westminster chime clock to him for service and repair as the case was badly damaged. We agreed on the service and John quoted me a couple of weeks later for the repairs. Everything was agreed before John completed the work. I was updated and sent photographs of the work in progress. I collected the clock today and I am absolutely thrilled with the quality of workmanship. John took time to talk about the care of the clock which was very helpful. The clock is now is in full working order and looks beautiful. He was quick to respond and arrange a time for me to drop it off with him, giving me a quote up-front for a full strip-down, repair and rebuild. He was also quick to complete the work too - I now have a fully working clock again. What can I say? John is great. I've a couple of wall clocks that I've taken to him over the years. He's serviced both clocks, and repaired/restored them too. My grandfather clock has been telling the time for around 240 years and it has been the beating heart of several homes in our family. Then one day it just stopped and seemed a sad presence in the hall. So when I set out to get it serviced I wanted to be sure that the repairer was the best. His work and his dedication are evident and even though I broke a bit of the pendulum putting it back together, he set about fixing that without fuss or charge.
